Can anyone tell me anything at all about Aurelio Magnani. All I've been able to come up with was that he studied with Cavallini and that he wrote two method books and an etude book. I'm really curious to know more. I can't even find a clear-cut date for Mazurka-Caprice either.

Magnani lived from 1856 to 1921. Better known as a teacher in Milan and Rome than as a player. If you want to know more, email me and I'll put you in touch with David Hattner, who made a study of Magnani and this particular piece.
