In a recent exchange, Jerry K. said he used a plain vanilla BG neckstrap. Does anyone have any ideas about the relative merits of the plain and elasticated versions?

Before going to the non-elastic BG neckstrap, I used the elastic Claricord, but didn't like it. It still left too much weight on my thumb. Some people, however, like the elastic.

I am one of those who prefers the elastic. However, I do use the non-elastic for bass clarinet and sax work. I know people who swear by both designs. They them both for a few days and see which you like better.

I use the elastic one and like it just fine. However there is one drawback. Over time it stretches out and you must replace it. The more you sweat, the faster it wears out.
