Now that Mardi Gras has (thankfully) returned to N.O., I was just wondering how our dear friend Pete Fountain and his "Half Fast" band is doing. Any info, anyone??
Update: I just found that he is playing at a casino in St Louis. There is also a short but good audio: http://www.casinomagic-baystlouis.com/entertainment.asp
Any additional info still welcomed..............(happy Monday, all)

That's Bay St. Louis a short distance from New Orleans, not St. Louis, MO.
Haven't heard whether or not Half-fast band is in parade or not.

When you agree to play in a parade, make sure you get a commitment to be IN FRONT OF the horses. I've marched behind horses (not to mention elephants), and it's a real obstacle course. Even if you're on a float (as I assume Pete will be), the smell can get pretty strong.

Hurricane Katrina totally destroyed Pete's home in Bay St. Louis, MS and the Casino Magic where he was playing. According to news reports, Pete has been living in Hammond, LA since the disaster. They are planning to rebuild the Casino Magic, but I don't know if Pete will be returning there or not. He will be doing a concert appearance on April 6th at the Van Wezel Hall in Sarasota, FL with the Dukes of Dixieland and Preservation Hall.
