RE: Help-I need pads, corks and bribes

Melissa -
Playing a horn and maintaining one are, in my opinion, similar. It takes 10% talent and 90% determination, practice and patience. Be prepared to make a few mistakes and don't be discouraged when you do. Consider the sound (positive) advice of some of the above posts. If you get in a bind, re-post about it here or to EarlyClarinet - you'll find lots of helpful people who've been there (where you are now) too. As a tech/friend once told me, 'You'll save a lot of money...'
I do. I'm not in competition for his business so he doesn't mind dispensing helpful hints. Keep in mind, as one post above mentions: bribes are acceptable. Offer him/her a donut with the coffee.
