Does the F mean that it was Mfgrd. for the European Market and possibly pitched at A442-A444 ? Just curious. They are nice instruments.

Hi,
Yes the "F" denotes manufacture for the European market, but dating the horn by the serial number remains the same.
Tuning with a 65mm barrel will be to 442. A 66mm barrel should get to 440. I am using a 67mm barrel (a Pyne) as my mouthpiece (a custom Pyne M13B) is shorter than the typical mouthpiece.
My RC, a full-boehm from 1984 plays WONDERFULLY, actually better than my R-13 from 1973. This surprised me! So much so that I am now using it as my primary Bb.
Glad all is continuing to go well with your RC Andy!
Eric
