 Van Gogh and Vandoren
Author: elmo lewis

According to the NY Review of Books, Van Gogh and his brother lived at 54 Rue Lepic in Paris and Vandoren is at 56 Rue Lepic. ¿Do you think their reeds drove him crazy? He also used sharpened reeds instead of paint brushes but I don't think the article meant our kind of reeds.

I don't think Vincent lived there very long. I doubt the reeds were the cause of his problem or his moving. I'll keep the info in my memory, however, just in case it comes up in a crossword.

Maybe he cut off his ear because of the incessant squeaking...
