My friend and I want to play a duet piece at our high school's Cabaret. But the main thing is I am going to play Clarinet and she is going to play soprano sax. I know that we could play a Bb clarinet duet. Does anyone have any suggestions.

The older [red covered] booklet, Clarinet Sessions, may be what you are looking for. Try the music stores, order if needed. Inexpensive. Don

This is a great combination for a klezmer tune! To hear what I'm talking about, go to Tara Publications (I think it's www.jewishmusic.com (or.org, can't recall)) and purchase any CD by the group "Finjan". From Tara or a really good local "bricks and mortar" music store you should buy the Kamen folio No. 1. Be certain to get the Bb edition, the only one with harmonies, making it easy for the two of you to divide up parts.
The closeness, yet difference, of the two instruments tonally is really neat, especially in an "call - answer" or "trading" format.
Dixieland or other real old - time jazz will work great, too.
Hope this was helpful.
Steve
