I am looking for an Eb clarinet for fun, and maybe some use in community bands. I have been looking for a good used one, but haven't seen one anywhere. I saw the Amati 261 on wwbw for about $700, which seems like a pretty good deal for a wood Eb. I am wondering if anyone has first hand experience with these, or if there are other good low priced Efers (preferably under $1000) out there. Thanks,
Ben

I have recently acquired an Amati 261. It plays fairly well in tune, sounds good and for the price, is one heck of a bargain. It's not the primary clarinet I use or anything, but it's working out well for my Eb needs.

Another vote for the Amati eefer. I got mine in Prague (see previous threads) and the deal was the sort of bargain about which I usually fantasise.
Played it tonight at a rehearsal and was pretty well in tune. RT

i have one too. not to bad. a few out of tune notes, but not bad at all for the price. decent mouthpiece helps a lot.
