I whould like to get some information about the Moennig family after they came to Pennsylvania. Like, what year they came over, how many were involved in instrument-making, what inpact did they have among american clarinet-players and such things. Are there any books where I can read about them?

I don't know if this might be what you are looking for but try:
www.people.memphis.edu/~ggholson/unitus/clar/MOENNIG.TXT
If this does not work please respond back and I will tell you in detail how to get there. The gentleman who runs the site is James Gholson, a former teacher of mine and principal clarinet in the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

There is a fine "Pictorial Essay on H M" in the ICA "The Clarinet" Winter 1983, Vol 10 #2, pg 6-13 which may answer many questions. His [unpublished?] advice re: cl care is well worth serious reading. The photos of him working and the testimonials of customer-friends are priceless. Don

Thanks, Brandon and Don. The site that Brandon suggested is a reprint of the 1983 issue of The Clarinet that Don suggested, so you helped me both of you. It was definately something like this I was looking for. Thanks again.
