It's fairly recent, Amazon lists it August 28. I just picked it up a few days ago at the local Barnes & Noble, and am quite impressed. I've always liked Paquito more on sax than clarinet, but Jazz Chamber Trio may be enough to change my mind - this is some of his best clarinet stuff I've ever heard! The highlight of the CD for me was his rather unique interpretation of A Night in Tunisia. Definitely a few steps away from the "standard" way I've heard it played by Parker, Gillespie, and others. Paq-man's virtuosity of course dominates the entire CD, he seems to be one of the few that can just throw out dazzling fast improv and make it sound like the song was written that way from the beginning. Overall, after a matter of days the CD is already sitting on my favorites shelf alongside The Essential Mingus Big Band, and "A Cure for Pain" by Morphine.
If you haven't picked it up yet and are a fan of Paquito's, it's a must. If anyone else has heard it, I'd be interested in hearing opinions.

Here in Israel we rarely have good concerts, but Paquito was here a few days ago. I didn't know about it :( Someone who went said it was amazing. I actually like him much better on clarinet than sax and I will probably buy it. Is there a place to listen to samples from this CD?
Edit: OK I found samples. Also I think the pianist is from Israel which is nice to see a few good things come out of my country....

Hey, the album is so great, just a magnificent and fully realized project Most of the tunes are beautifully arranged South American quasi classical, often rhythmic, little bit of jazz, but all magnificent music from a trio of clarinet except for one track (alto), piano and cello. You all just must have it. It reminds of the great Kronos Quartet album "Nuevo", that came out three or four years ago. The piano player is Alon Yavnai (who has a very nice new jazz album just out with Paquito as guest on three or four tunes, one on soprano sax the rest clarinet. The cello player is also just masterful. I heard most of this Paquito's new album live at a jazz club in LA about two months ago. Even though it was so complex and tightly arranged and more classical in approach than jazz, Paquito had the crowd enthralled with the beauty of it. He played a few tunes not on the album, one is the tune that goes: du dada du dada, du dat du dat "Salt Peanuts, Salt Peanuts". Of course I called out the Salt Peanuts, which I am sorry to say that very few people in the audience caught onto. Well Paquito came to my table at the break with his clarinet and played it for me again. We chatted about his Rossi's and I commented that his Eb clarinet playing was the best I have ever heard. He then told me it was a brand new Rossi C clarinet. Darn, it sounded just so very fine! He is so friendly. Naturally I bragged a little about my one year old "matched" set of American bore Rossi's. (And I love them).
Does anyone remember Paquito and Sergio Santos jamming on a medley of Pixinguina tunes at the Oklahoma fest about five years ago? What a night that was.

Haven't bought it, but I've heard selections off the radio. (Yes, good radio does exist!)
Great stuff.
Is it okay to plug a radio station? (run mostly by volunteers?)

Itunes has Paquito on it. I just bought Pauito's Book/w-CD "Music Minus Me" which is a play along from him.

Bought the CD, listened to it a few times, and the guy still amazes me. Goes down in my book as a great influence and role model for sound + technique.
I have ONE gripe though . . .
Track #9 is labeled Improvisation [Saxaphone Solo].
For those others that have it, is it not the clarinet that he's playing on that track? I could swear I'm hearing some throat tones and that it's out of the range for a sax . . .

I think the track is simply mislabeled. It's clearly a clarinet and not a saxophone. The one just befor (#8) is a sax, so perhaps they simply reversed the two?
