I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of sound and response of my new Legere bass clarinet reed, but it needs a little adjustment for my Bonade inverted ligature to fit correctly. It is okay at the base, with the rails of the lig contacting the middle of the reed, but towards the top of the lig, the rails don't come in contact with the reed. Instead the lig pinches the sides of the reed. Is it safe to take some of the "bark" off the edges of the reed? What is the best way to go about this?
Thanks for any ideas!

They say the reed can be worked on, but you must work from the butt of the reed toward the tip only and not in the other direction. They also supposedly guarantee the reed, so you might call them or acces their website and see if you can trade it in. I tried working on one of my legere Bb reeds but I think it sounds worse than when I started. Other people have said that they can be worked on. I guess I should have gotten one of them to work on mine for me. I like the legeres but the verdict is still out on using the reed as my primary reed. I am still experementing. I hope someone else can shed more light on this subject, but there is my information. Good luck.

Actually, I received a reply from Guy Legere himself, saying work only from the tip towards the base. I haven't tried it yet, but will keep you posted.
