Folks,
I purchased a old Hamel A clarinet several years ago. Does anyone have background information on this maker?
Thanks,
Kenwrick

In Rendall's book "The Clarinet" there is mention of a cl'ist Gaston Hamelin who died 1951, not listed under Makers . Don

Thanks. I was hoping to shed some light on to it's history. It's a unique horn that has key on the bottom of the left thumb hole. You'd use the top left of your thumb to hit the register key and the bottom right of your thumb to hit this key.

Yes, this is a Boehm system. I know it's not a student type model. It used to belong to a clarinetist in the Chicago NBC studio orchestra.
