Now that my Bb Leblanc LL is all fixed and sounds perfect I've gotten spoiled and would like to know if I can somehow put the gold emblem on the barrel and clarinet back on. Its still there just really faded. Is it possible to make the emblem look newer? What do I need or is that a tech job?

There are special crayons that repair shops use to fill in the emblems. If you're polite, the technician will probably give you the stub end of one, which will last for years.

If your LL is like mine, the emblems are pretty deep and well-defined (as opposed to the fine, shallow Buffet emblem). You could probably fill it in with a gold crayon, then just wipe off the excess with a cloth.

I showed my EBAY-acquired Selmer USA Omega, y'know with that carved bell, to my repairer friends, Steve just took it to his work bench, and brought it back with the gold-trim restored, then played it for kicks, saying "dern good horn". Believe he used a crayon, or gold solution ?, which I protect for show !! Nice, Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

Hi C G - Not having a scanner, nor much skill, I cant show you MY Sel - O, but if you look on EBAY [search "Selmer Omega"] you can see what both the [recent?] Paris and USA models look like, the only [obvious] diffs. being the Henri S [Paris] logo, and the "carved" bell on the USA , however mine looks better with the gold restored !! The write-ups by the seller give you the basics, and I see little diff. between the two. Mine does play better with some mp "matching", it came w: a Sel C*, not bad, but my re-faced O'Brien glass is GREAT, yes, Big Voice. Have fun. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
