I have started to work on this (Scene and Air from Luisa di Montfort) piece for a solo competition that is coming up pretty soon. I have been looking for a recording of it in many places (Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Windows Media player, etc.) and have not found the song anywhere. Does anyone know where I could find a recording of this or recommend a place to search for it? It does not matter if it is on a CD I would have to buy. I would actually prefer that.
Thanks!!

Once upon a time I found a recording that some kid made of himself and put on his Web site. I think he just programmed his electronic keyboard for accompaniment. It wasn't all that great, but it was something. Danged if I can't find it now. I'll keep an eye out.
ALSO, search your local libraries for a recording called "Robert McGinnis Plays The Clarinet." It's an oldie in LP format that includes this piece. I just searched the library catalog at the college where I work and, well dip me in shellack, there it is! McGinnis was one of the giants of the clarinet, so I'd imagine you'd find no better recording.
Visit the site below, punch in your zip code, and happy hunting.

Ralph's memory is indeed correct.
Robert McGinnis did make an LP recording titled "Robert McGinnis Plays the Clarinet" (Award Artist Series AAS 702) where he plays a number of contest pieces.
The Bergson "Scene and Air" is contained on that album along with works by Avon, Pierne, Hosmer, Le Thiere, Bassi, and others. Also included is the dreadful "Waltz Fantasy" (Mozart) which somehow continues, year after year, to remain in the NYSSMA catalog.
I had forgotten that I still had a (well worn) copy of the LP until Ralph reminded me of it...GBK
