the other day i opened my jon manasse CD, the one with the 3 concertos, and i noticed that the clarinet pictured inside the cd case was a jupiter. does anyone know what he plays? cause ive always heard that jupiter clarinets were not really that great, you know, worse quality than the buffet or selmer and i dont know why he would play one.

Careful product placement maybe? I haven't seen a Jupiter clarinet in a very long time.

He's Buffet horns and Vandoren reeds and mouthpieces all the way. So say the liner notes. Latest I heard is he's using Festivals, but that was some time back.
Look at the picture on the cover. You can see the alternate Ab/Eb lever and the silver badge. Probably Festival or Prestige.
