A flute player friend and I are gearing up for a recital at his church early next year. It's looking like it'll just be the two of us, so we have to fill an hour. I'm planning Weber's Intro, Theme and Variations. We're thinking of closing with something together and we're leaning toward Saint Saens' Tarantella.
I read up in the archives that it's pretty challenging (never heard it nor seen the sheet music yet, only heard a couple 60-second clips at Amazon). We'd like to give it a look (and yes, I know it's for A clarinet). But how demanding is the piano part? We have a couple of accompanists lined up, but we're being careful not to tax them too much. Would this put an amateur pianist over the edge? I mean, we can only booze them up so much before showtime.
