Hello,
In our band we are playing the score of "The Lost World", John Williams, arranged for Concert Band by Paul Lavender, MCA 04001719.
For the Bb clarinet 3 score, at measure 19 and 22, there is a low re # (below my lowest note mi), and I am wondering if this is an error on the partition, or there is a way to play this note?
If this is an error which note do you replace it with?
Thanks a lot,
Jean

If you cover up your bell, you can basically get the note out, but no point in doing that at all. Just play the note up an octave or get the bass clarinet to play it (bottom line Eb as the bass sounds an octave lower)

It may not be an error. Some clarinets (so-called Full Boehm models) have the low Eb/D#.

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.
To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.
