I wasn't sure how to label the topic, but I was wondering how mouthpieces can be refaced (considering that you can take away material, but can't add material to one).
I know you can open up a tip, and if the baffle/chamber needs work you can open those up, but can the lay be made longer/shorter, curve shorter/longer, etc. etc.
Just wondering how that would work.

Just about anything can be refaced, although in the more extreme cases work also has to be done on the interior (baffle, possibly the sides and window, maybe even the bore itself).

I agree with Dave's assessment, and suggest you contact the MouthpieceWork @Yahoogroups.com for more info. Their main interest seems to be sax mps, but they do talk about cls and are knowledgable like our experts here. Don

Excellent. Just the answer I was hoping to hear. (Of course you've guessed that I'm now receiving ANOTHER mouthpiece. But this one was in a package deal, so I NEEDED to receive it). So I figured I'll have it worked up.
