So, I'm going to be getting a car very soon, and I really want to have a creative plate, that relates to clarinet or music in general. Any one have a good idea? Or two, or three?

Thanks Don and John! CLARINT is available in my state too! I checked on PRESTO and that is available, but probably not the best idea. B FLAT is also one I like, that is available. Man, there are just so many choices!

Perhaps, in some fashion you can record and substitute a clarion C note for the sound of the automobiles horn.

How about: B40 B45, M13 M15, 5JB (all Vandoren mouthpiece models, only a clarinetist would be able to understand the reference. )

Or, B12, E11,E12,E13,R13 (again it mostly would be clarinetists who understand the reference)

I had a bad experience with vanity plates. They made me too easy to spot in the mall parking lot.

Here's the dog.

Number plates in the UK are restricted in format. But R13 BUF is a possibility. And in 2011 it will be possible to get LE61ANC.

I have been thinking about getting a vanity plate for my little sports car (I have to apply before the end of the year, so I don't have much time). After reading this thread, I've decided to not only consider ones relating to my car or background, but my clarineting as well. The new ones I'm considering are:

ALLEGRO -- music related and it says something about my car
ACLRNDO -- likewise
BS CLRNT -- Would anyone be able to interpret this?

 My plate reads, GR8SAX.

The Wisconsin DMV wouldn't give me GUDSAX even though I explained that many consider me to be a good sax player. They reasoned that some "spelling challenged" individuals might be offended. I asked, "then is it ok if I am great?"

Three more (though one might have been mentioned already)

EVETTE
TOSCA (since it's an opera and one of the latest Buffet models)
GREENLN (and it's variants)

One that one of my high school teachers had was: ETUDE

If I were getting a vanity licence place, I'd consider one that is either a general music-based one, or one were very few people would likely understand the reference. (to not make it as obvious to people who might think about stealing an instrument from a vehicle--TOSCA for example, might just mean you're an opera singer or fanatic, it's probably mostly clarinetists who know it's also a very recent model of Buffet's line clarinetis)
