Hey Everyone. Does anyone know if you can use an alto/tenor sax stand as a bass clarinet stand. Thanks.

I second the vote for the Blayman. It is a bit pricey and a little heavy, but I love mine. It is built rock solid and will do a fantastic job of protecting your instrument. It is still cheaper than what a repair bill could be if your bass falls over.

Or you can buy the Konig bass clarinet stand which is much cheaper (but also pretty expensive) than the Blayman, and works great.

I absolutely second clarnibass with his proposition to buy the Koenig bass clarinet stand. It is substantially cheaper and actually much more stable than the Blayman stand (less subject to be knocked over by inattentiveness)

In my experience, I have actually found that the Blayman's, smaller "footprint" makes it more compact and less likely to be bumped, knocked, tripped over, etc., especially on a stage or pit that does not have a lot of room. The substantial weight of the base makes it very stable. You would have a hard time knocking it over.

I have an acquaintance who successfully uses a sax stand for her bass clarinet, but I wouldn't do it, as it appears to unstable to me. I have a Koenig bass clarinet/bassoon stand and think it's great.

My brother recently got a guitar stand for christmas, and my first thought was that it would work brilliantly for bass clarinet! I have also used a bari stand for bass clarinet but its a little rocky...i had it jammed in the pit so that didnt bother me!
