 vintage Buffet clarinet case
Author: martind

I own a vintage 1965 Buffet R13 clarinet. I purchased a canvas case
cover at this time that has protected the pouchette case nicely. It now
has reached its life span. The case cover was manufactured by Artistic
Products, NYC which is no longer in business. I tried the Buffet case
cover from WWBW and found it too small. Does anyone know where
I could order a new cover for my vintage clarinet case?

go to http://www.cavallarocasecovers.com/

they will custom make a cover to your dimensions.

Altieri (spl??) makes very good covers for cases of all sizes. They take your case's measurements (you measure and send the specs to them) and they custom make the cover for your case. The covers have spacious side pockets for music and other needed accessories and have comfortable shoulder strapes that make carrying your clarinet a lot easier. I've seen a Cavallaro cover, and they are also good--but my Altieri covers are more spacious (and have lasted for over 20 yrs with constant use).

Just Googled up the website info: http://www.altieribags.com/

Hope that works.

BTW- for years I have used a Lands End attache as a case cover/carry all bag for my pochette case. It will hold tons of stuff-Reeds, knives, tools, music, you name it. Besides that, it is nearly indestructible and for $49 you can't beat it.

The Land's End covers are good as long as you aren't stuffing it in and out of a locker all day. When I was at Oberlin, I had one for my pochette case, but it wore through the bag by 4 years after I had gotten it due to CONSTANT sliding in and out of the locker...

Katrina- a couple of solutions. You could try the ballistic attache which is made from the material used in bulletproof vests. Alternatively, keep in mind Lands End guarantees their products for life!

Thanks for the info, Ed.

I did get another Land's End attache for the case but have since switched to an Altieri bag which has much more room for binders of music/etc.
