I have a 10 years old C100 which was my first
clarinet when i start learning. it has very good
intonation and so easy to maintain. the sound is
good too. and most importantly, it is cheap!

I did some teaching in a local primary school that supplied their kids with a variety of student model clarinets including the Yamaha C100, Buffet B12, Selmer, Blessing, Armstrong and Solo brands. Of all these the C100 proved the most reliable, had pretty good intonation and nice key work. The Buffet was also a nice clarinet but was more expensive and not noticable better, in my opinion anyway mainly because they were more often in need of repair than the C100 clarinets.
