Did any fellow Aussies listen to the final (broadcast) last night of the ABC Young Performer's Award? from the SOH Concert Hall?
I seriously thought the pianist was going to win (an expatriate American by the name of Edward Neeman), his Rachmaninov was sublime ... but was happily surprised when a saxophonist won (Amy Dickson).
The Sydney Symphony did a magnificent job (as always). The sax player performed a Swedish concerto for Sax and Strings, a beautiful and lyrical piece ... (Larsson Opus 14).
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

Camera crews were all over the Opera House ... it will be televised in November apparently ...
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.
