I picked up clarinet again a few weeks ago after long break. During my second practice at home my son tells me "mom, you reaaly should not do that. It sounds pretty bad". So thats when I deceided to get a teacher. Have only practiced when I was alone at home since. Last week he was home sick so he heard me and his comment "Wow mom, that was great. Have you played without me? See, all you got to do is practice, practice, practice"
By the way, he is 3 years old

"Out of the mouth of babes" - that's a cute story. If he is this encouraging now, I hope your son will someday play an instrument, too.

He will get a keyboard for his birthday next month. He has been eying those for a while. Don't know yet if he should get "real" lessons or if I should start him. (started to play organ when I was about his age but have not played that in about 15 years).

What a lovely son. I have 2 sons, aged 8 and 6, and they form a league with their dad called Typhoon Rangers to "fight" against mom, the Claclaws (hence the nickname).... It's their club's mission to disturb mom whenever she pulls her clarinet out of the case...
