 Cleveland Krasimir trivia

Is it true that when Cleveland Krasimir,a clarnetist, performed he did so
with his back to the audience. It seems he felt he was so good he didn't
want other clarnetists copying his style of playing. A friend of mine heard this on the radio, and I had never heard of such a thing.

There are rumors of other musicians doing this. One of the famous Klezmer clarinetists did this...I can't for the life of me remember whether it was Naftule Brandwein or Dave Tarras, though!
