Has anyone ever heard Eric P. Mandat's CD "The Extended Clarinet"? It is truly worth it's weight in gold. His talent will remind you what the clarinet is capable of. If you hate contemporary music, I advise you not to purchase the album. His use of multiphonics, the glissando, and circular breathing is outstanding. If you are wondering where the heck this guy came from, he is a student of Neidich and works as clarinet professor to a school in Illionois. There are some techniques on this album that I have never heard, and they creeped me out the first time I heard them. Again I am able to appreciate all types of clarinet music, and this album is out there. I mean waaaaay out there, but it is well worth a listen. I also just borrowed Robert Spring's "Dragon Tongue" from a friend also. I know some of you are vomiting, but Flight of the Bumble Bee is an amazing feat especially articulated!!!
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Eric Mandat's "approach" to clarinet playing is certainly unique. That CD really is amazing.
