Just saying a quick farewell. I will be gone for a very long time (indefinitely). This board was great while I was able to be a part of it. Taught me a TON of valuable things. Thanks Mark for taking the time to run it and giving me (and others) such easy access to clarinet knowledge.
S'long all.

This is awfully sudden (at least to me), but farewell and best wishes to wherever you're going. I hope to see you here again sometime.)

Alexi, thanks for all your valuable contributions to this board. I hope that music (and math, not necessarily in that order) will continue to play an important part in your life. I also hope that you'll be back here before too long. All the best!

I'd like to express my best wishes, too, Alexi, wherever your direction may take you. I've enjoyed your informative posts, contributions, and wit and plain ol' down home advice. You'll be missed by many, I'm sure, and I hope to be here to welcome you on your return. We'll keep a light in the window for you.
So long

Alexi - what's happened? Where are you going, that you can't keep in touch?
As Ralph G said, this is awfully sudden and doesn't seem like your usual self. I hope everything's OK with you, and that we do hear from you before too long. You'll certainly be sadly missed!
Take care,
Jo

Hope everything is ok - as one poster suggested, it doesn't seem like you.
Hope you are ok - not many places in the world are unreachable now.
Best wishes.
BobT - who will miss your interesting posts.

If you are concerned about his well being because of the cryptic nature of his post, someone may want to contact him by email or IM, as he included that information. Of course, this assumes that he still has access to those services.

I sent an email to him before I even posted my first message here. No response. Must've been very sudden.
I'm sure he'll let us know whenever he's able. Until then, maybe we should just leave him be and wish him well.

Alexi, I hope you're ok. You have been a great source of clarinet knowledge and comaradarie to me. Thanks, and may you be spared from any squeaks, both on the clarinet and in life.

Just to let people know (I've had a number of emails to me personally) - I don't know what happened, either. I wish sfalexi all the happiness in the world.

I was away just a couple of days, and what a sudden sad news...and somewhat worrisome one, too, I must add, as I read some of the posts above.
I hope everything's fine...
Enjoyed and learned a lot from your posts, sfalexi.
All the best.

I thought sfalexi was a female. Apparently there are no computers at the new address.

I looked at Alexi's website (on one of his previous posts), and found this post in another one of the forums he goes to.
"I'll be gone for a long time. Possibly for good. It's been fun but I'm getting f--ed over financially so I'm gonna cut EVERY corner I can. Including, but not limited to the internet. 40 dollars a month that I'm not gonna worry about anymore. Toodles all.
Alexi"

Alexi's website
http://www.geocities.com/softheart82
I couldn't remember what it was or what thread it was in, but I knew I'd seen it here so I typed his nickname into Google in the hope of finding something- and found something.

Didn't Alexi say at some point that he was going to the ClarinetFest which is being held in a few weeks' time? If so, and if some of you see him there, tell him we miss him and hope he comes back soon.........

I know Alexi. I play in a community wind ensemble with him. He is most definately a male, and a sensitive kind soul. As well as being a fine
clarinetist. I will pass your good words along to him, and hopefully he can find a way back to this board.
Best regards,
Steve

Funny how people project gender images onto otherwise totally neutral internet personalities
And funny how many posts Alexi has generated by his absence - kind of reminds me of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer observing their own funerals. Don't we all fantasize about that?
