Hola All!
Yet another post from me. I'm looking around on Ebay and I came across this:
This is an outstanding Harry O'Brien crystal mouthpiece, off -center bore model,

[ snipped - Do not copy complete eBay descriptions - GBK ]

Does anybody know what this "off-center bore" does, and would this be worth looking for? I'd love to know!
Cheers!
Sean

O'Brien mouthpieces have been discussed many times before.

A quick look in the archives will answer your questions ...GBK

Sorry 'bout that!
I'll remember in the future, and I think I'll read the rules.

Sean - I have an old [perhaps mid 1930's] O'Brien [Harry E & Son] sop. cl. mailing tube from one of my mps. Among a list of facings and good words, it says "The New Off-Center Bore" "OCB Model", apparently I paid $13.50 for a 2*. Its faded pic shows O'Brien on the table and has no metal tenon cap, as I believe later ones have. The OCB is not distinguishable [to me] at the tenon end when into a barrel. If it is present, it might be locatable up near the junction with the beak. There is a "chat group" "www.mouthpiecework@yahoogroups.com". Their main concern is with sax mps, but they sound knowledgable to me, and they do talk about cl mps at times. You might post a ? there, I'd also be interested in any info, it might be common in this funny bit of technology. I know of only one US Patent to HEB, for a sax mp. I plan to make a more thorough patent search at our PDL in Stillwater, perhaps in Tulsa/OKC, if available there. Luck, Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

Wow Don!
Thanks for the info! I'll most certainly check and post back here!
