Here's the official site, with all the press stuff.

Not only will we see the 'making' of the symphony, but we will also be able to watch a taped performance of the actual concert itself as well.

Piccolo player endlessly practising.....
That should be banned, next we'll hear they're doing duets with the e flat clarinettist!

Only a few minutes to show time. That third movement clarinet part, actually all the woodwind parts, looking forward to hearing this.

Saw the show last night. I don't think it quite met my expectations, though in all fairness it was late and I was starting to get tired and might have been dozing off...but still.
The 'behind the scenes' was all really Thomas ranting and raving about about oh how great and how emotional the symphony was. I really thought we'd be getting a little more in depth look at the process of preparing for the concert instead.

I saw about 1 1/2 hrs last nite on our Tulsa PBS. I enjoyed it thouroughly, yes, there could have been more "in depth", but watching/hearing fine oboe, bassoon, flute and piccolo playing, hoped for more clarinets-showing [any bass cl in the 4th?], was much impressed/pleased. Such "fire/intensity" by all, the "studies" where MTT and the 1st chairs worked out phrasings [nuances?] were fascinating. My only acquaintance with T's 4th, other than many hearings, was way back in Mich State's Band, TRYING to play that Finale, very difficult, at least for us ! Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
