Aint been N of da bridge for some time, hope to visit kinnery at lakes near Big Rapids this summer. Us ole folk in OK get nostalgic for decent summer weather. Played a summer job in the Soo back in the dark ages, while at Mich State. Ah, Youth. Don

TKS, Ralph, for allowing us UP and LP folk to speak of our beloved "amounom pennisularum" state, [I prob. misspelled the Latin from our flag!] . Betty's reference to "da Bridge" is the Mackinac bridge [5 miles?] connecting/uniting? our two penninsulas, the big lake is Manistique, [maybe Superior?] keerect, Betty? R K, please find a map, it'll help, you can even try to pronounce some of our [inherited] French and Indian names also. Soo is short for Sault Ste Marie, locks connedting Superior to Huron etc,. Find and view the old movie, with Jimmy Stewart and the judge [Joseoh Welch{McCarthy!} discussing the "irresistable impulse", its a fair introduction to UP MI'ganders. I'm an LP, Lansing. Cant recall movie's name, HELP. More in an EM, Betty. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

In '99 I went to a Notre Dame football game and found a little motel room in Niles, just across the line from South Bend (bottom of palm, pinky side). Only time I've been to Michigan. Was kind of neat doing 4 states in one day (flying Texas to Missouri to Illinois, then driving to Indiana) then suddenly adding a 5th state just by driving down the street in S. Bend and passing a "Welcome to Michigan" sign. Though it was tough keeping the time zones straight.t
