 Solo w/ orchestra
Author: Dana

Can anyone suggest short solos (15min.) with string orchestra and/or a small symphony orchestra strings plus (2,2,2,2-2,2,0,0)?

Also, do you know if there is an orchestra accompanimental transcription for Rabaud's Solo de Concours?

Thanks,

D

The Alan Ridout 'Concertino for Clarinet and Strings' is great fun and not very difficult. I'm doing it for an exam, with piano accompaniment replacing the strings. It's published in England by Emerson. There are a few mistakes in the clarinet part though (you can get in touch with me if you want the corrections!) It's only about 7-8 minutes though.....
