I checked the Search above, but couldn't get much info there.
Recently bought the piece, and now start practicing "Menuetto". (the 1st mov. is un-approchable for me. Not yet)
I have a close friend of mine who is second violinist at an amateur chamber orcherstra, so will ask her to duet with me, with her playing the viola part(hope she can make it).
My questions are,
- Is this a blasphemy to Mozart?
- could we sound as we should?
Pls tell us what to focus especially, and any suggestions in playing it.
Such a nice tune, I must say, and Sabine Meyer plays it sooo well...

Well, as far as blasphemy goes, it probably doesn't go farther than how I'm playing the piece these days...with clarinet, violin, and accordion... Yes, the violin plays the viola part and the accordion plays the piano part.
The problems with this, IMHO, are that the viola's sound can be richer and deeper than the violin AND that because the range of the instruments is different, some of the arpeggios get broken up in odd ways.
FWIW, the reason our violinist doesn't play it on viola is because she doesn't own one right now. She can play 'em but doesn't own one.
As far as more info in the search engine here, try spelling the word with one "L" and two "T's" at the end..."Kegelstatt" should give you some results.

Phui ... go for it ... afterall, Mozart wasn't without blame when it came to arranging music.
His arrangement of "Messiah" is a notable example ...

GBK ... indeed not only did he add clarinets (and horns, flutes and trombones) but he fiddled with the harmonies extensively. Nevertheless it's a beautiful work (in Mozart's hands).
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

The only problem I actually see, in all seriousness, is that the viola part (of course) is written in the alto clef ... hope she's fluent.

No need to be embarrassed, claclaws...
Just helping out! As Mark says, non-native speakers of English are not to be chastised, and I feel the same about any language. You just needed a pointer in the right direction...nothing to be ashamed of.
diz has a point about alto clef...If she can't read it, someone will have to write it out.
