Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good store in NYC that buys clarinets?

Just don't expect to get much for it...
Want a good price for your gear?
- eBay -
The NYC stores have HUGE overhead and can't afford small margins.

I know for a fact that Perry Ritter (156 W. 55th St., 212-956-6174) takes horns on consignment--I sold a soprano sax through him that way. He's a great repairman and a no-BS, straight-shooter kind of guy, so why not contact him? It's possible that Jimmy Yan, Roberto, Alexander, and some of the other repair guys also sell on consignment (and may outright buy your horn, but you'd have to check on that).
My experience was that it took a while for the horn to sell, but I got a good price (not a GREAT price, but a good price) and Perry made some money too.
Good luck; keep us posted.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I'll probably contact all of them and maybe even settle on ebay.
