This overture by Offenbach is the warhorse on the program for
our next band concert. Is there anything notable in the clarinet part?
Thanks,
D.O.

La Belle Heléne can get to be quite annoying. Everything after measure # 270 will just about kill the tip of your tongue after a couple times through. My wind ensemble recorded it a few weeks ago, and everyone is glad to get rid of it. It's a nice piece- but it was below our level and after the first week got boring. That's pretty much how it goes with everything you record I guess, but I felt this one was "special". Watch out for intonation at measure 19 I believe 'cause it can be killer.

I'm playing the orchestra version, didn't even look at the post thoroughly. Sorry about that!
Lucky for you, I'm performing it a week from today. Nothing really too exciting. There's a couple of exposed parts, but not too tricky. I hope you can tongue evenly and quickly, the end has a lot of tonguing. Also lots of offbeats. Other than that, nothing to worry about!
