As far as I can ascertain ... two composers own the copyright to the three Pink Panther themes
1) Mancini
2) Charles Douglas
I suggest you contact them for permission to do what you're asking.
As a person who tries to earn some income from composing and arranging I take copyright infringement (especially blatant) as offensive.
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

As a question to those of you out there who know more about the subject of this topic. What is stated about getting materials from a library? What I would guess (and that's why I'm asking, because I want to KNOW and not 'guess') is that photocopying music from a library to keep would be against the law, but that taking the music out to practice and/or perform it wouldn't be. Is that correct?
I ask because I just requested some interlibrary loans on some clarinet music (david shifrin mozart concerto and quintet as well as someone else playing these - Sabine Meyer I think - for comparing and contrasting) and I saw during my browsing a few actual sheet music selections that were available to borrow from my library. More popular works than anything, but I found it interesting and wondered what would be 'proper' and what wouldn't be.

Learning it isn't the crime, but getting something that SHOULD be paid for, for free is the crime. Sorta like the whole mp3 thing. Yeah, it sounds stupid cause to you it's one mp3, but artists and the music industry in general puts out songs to earn money, and you're taking it away from them. How would you like it if people just dropped off kids for you to babysit for free once in a while when you should normally get 10 dollars an hour for it? You wouldn't care at first, but you'd be annoyed too after a while! I know I would be!

Well, Susan, I guess you got told. They are right of course. Actually, the notes for Pink Panther are yours for the taking to enjoy. Just listen to a recording and work out the tune yourself. It is fun and you will learn a lot about music that way. I wish I had done more of that as a kid.
