hello, i am going to play in the orchestra for my schools production of what we think is going to be cinderella. no one will say for sure yet if that is what it is going to be, so i dont have any info on the woodwind books or what instruments i will be playing. has anyone played the show "cinderella" before? im assuming its the rodgers and hammerstein version. how are the woodwind books divided? is it alto, clar., and flute in one book like it is in many other musicals? thanks for your help.

Try this link using a cut and paste, then a search.
http://www.rnh.com/index1.html
( The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization )
Scroll down using the arrow to the right of Shows A-L, going down to Cinderella. Click on Go. It should show you a page of information about the show. Click on Production Information. The orchestration is just under the Rehearsal Materials and shows the books provided for that show. This show uses what we commonly call "straight books" as opposed to "doubling books." I hope this reply will help you. Enjoy your experience in a pit orchestra.
