I began working through it today. (Yes I should have started a LONG time ago, but I'm a procrastinator at heart). It didn't seem that bad until I got to G# major and a few of the minors.
First I played page 123 out of Klose's Method for clarinet, then I playe Klose's scales in thirds, then the diminished sevenths. Then I went to baermann. I played it for an hour. I played straight through, playing each exercise at whatever speed I could in order to play it without mistakes. For some it was very quickly, for some very slowly.
However I didn't QUITE make it to the back cover. One hour just isn't enough for me yet . . . so for tomorrow would you guys recommend picking up where I left off and continuing day to day until I complete and then going back, or should I begin once again at the beginning and see if I get a little further?
For what it's worth, I only got through to the broken scales (groups of four) and am somewhere in that section (I made it past the initial scales, broken chords, and diminished sevenths)
OR in other words, I'm on page 12.
Thanks.

Since you just began working through it - go ahead and start where you ended. Pick it up there and go ahead to the ending; this way you'll be aware of what is in the book and where your strengths and weaknesses are at the moment (they can change from day to day).
After going through it all, go back and start a regular, serious routine that suits your needs. Ask your teacher for advice on which areas to concentrate.
