 Playing Organ Music

my other half has a heap, and I mean a heap, of Organ Music from 20 years of playing (he managed to block off a whole royal show pavillion and entrances once lol)....anyway, do I have to transpose this for Clarinet (It's actually Piano music) ? My brains have gone to mush since I haven't done anything musically for so long - it's all slowly coming back.

You don't have to transpose as long as you are playing it by yourself.
If you wanted to play along with a piano or other instrument in C, you would need to play one tone higher on the clarinet than it's written. An accompanist with an electronic keyboard or electronic piano can usually make the adjustment so that their instrument would transpose and you could play it as written.
I hope this isn't too confusing...
Hans
