I have been playing the clarinet for about five years and I am play in an amateur orchestra giving occassional public performance.

I have learnt a lot from you in this bBoard about clarinet. Now I have one question,

I have been using the same barrel on my leblanc sonata for many years.
Can someone tell me what is the benefit of replacing it with a better barrel . Will there be improvement in tone.. .etc. ? Because nobody has told me about this before.

Unfortunately you won't know until you actually try. Eventually you'll have as many spare barrels as I do and you can mystify friends with your explanations

I play on LeBlanc Concertos, the accoustical cousins of the Sonata, and I have found nothing better than the original barrels. I have tried several Springers, a Moennig and some Chadash models, and always keep returning to the LeBlanc barrels that came with my instruments. And my extra "custom" barrels sit in my drawer full of good, but unused "stuff".
