Gold Plated Buffet Crampon Clarinet; what model?
Author: William Muuse

I own a gold plated Buffet Crampon clarinet my folks bought me back 69 or 70. Aside from the Buffet Crampon Logo on the instrument, all I can see is a serial (# 107920). Is there a way for me to find out if this clarinet is a professional or student model?, or more specifically what model it might be? Thanks for anyone's help.

107920 is 1969. If no markings (plates, etc.) are on the clarinet it is a polycylindrical R-13.

...meaning it is a pro quality instrument. Unless there
is something wrong with it, you could easily get more than
a thousand for it. Better still, play it.
