I'm looking at buying a new wooden clarinet. I've been looking at the Buffet R-13, LeBlanc Pete Fountain Big Easy, LeBlanc Concerto II, LeBlanc Opus, LeBlanc Sonata, and a few Selmer models. Does anyone have any suggestions or information on any of these instruments??? Also none of the music stores carry any of these big names so therefore I am not able to look at or try any of these instruments!! How do I go about looking and trying out one of these clarinets?? Does anyone know what kind of deals that I can get on these clari's???? Any advice would really help!!! Thank you!!

I don't know where you might be located, but that could be a drawback, if your local stores do not carry Buffet, Leblanc, or Selmer. For a purchase so important, it might be worthwhile to visit a city where you would have the opportunity to try the instruments you wish im person, or use one of the companies specializing in offering instruments for trial. Search this Bulletin Board's archives for information on such companies as Woodwind and Brasswind, IMS, Muncy Winds, and others who will allow you to try Clarinets before buying.
If you can visit Clarinetfest in Salt Lake City next month, you would have the opportunity to try a great variety of instruments.
Meanwhile, search the archives here. Click "search" above the top of the thread, then enter an instrument's name. You should be able to find more than you would ever want to know about every one of those instruments. Remember, though, that all of this is the opinion of others. Your preferered instrument can hardly be determined only by what someone else likes.
Regards,
John

It's easy, buy one of each on eBay. On the other hand since you seem to have an open mind just buy the R13, you won't be sorry.
