I'm currently preparing for an audition this fall.
Which is the most popular piece/ movement in Mozart and Weber?
Which piece do you usually play for an audition?
The Mozart concerto for clarinet or the Weber concerto in F minor?
I know we're not all on the same level .. but
I just want your opinion on which concerto is the easiest to play.

Do you want easiest or most popular?
I'm finally starting to work on the Mozart, and I quite like it. At first glance, it seems a bit easier technically than the Webers, but I know from experience that looks can be deceiving, and the non-technical musicality obviously differs from piece to piece.
I'm partial to the first movement of Weber II (though I bombed a few critical notes on an audition. Tell me, how does one squawk on the first note of a piece?), just because I like the sound of it.
For an audition, especially your first audition, make sure you know the piece inside and out. Get it under your fingers. If you can "just barely" play it when you practice, you're likely to stumble when the pressure is on. If you own the piece when you practice, you'll sound much better at an audition.
If you pick something too easy, the auditioners may think you are not challenging yourself, but play it well enough and they may overlook that fact. If you pick something too difficult and stumble, it doesn't bode well for your musicianship. However, since you're looking at the Mozart and Weber, I don't think "not challenging" would be too much of an issue.
For a first audition, however, I'd suggest to do something "showy"... one of the faster movements.

I think they are both good pieces. This may not be good advice, but this is what it SEEMS like to me (as a person who has recently auditioned for colleges)... People seem to be extremely critical of the Mozart. Not that they'll ignore errors in the Weber by any means, but it seems like when you play the Mozart, they are just waiting for you to mess up and scrutinizing every single thing... Maybe it's just my imagination though...
I've played the 1st and 2nd Movs. of the Mozart and the 3rd Mov. of the Weber II at auditions, and both pieces seemed to be effective (I was LUCKY enough to not mess up much!) My advice would be play the one you LIKE the best, because if you like it, you'll get more "into the performance" and it'll come off more effectively. Just my opinion...

I agree that Mozart tends to be placed on a pedestal.
Personally, I like Mvt 1 of Weber I and mvt 3 of Weber II.
So fun to play, that it's hard to even care what the judges think!
Good luck with your audition.
