On a tangent off the discussion of mouthpieces, can anyone tell me the differences in these German style facings fit for a French Bohem sytem?

Yup. Sure enough, it only gives the specs for the special American models, not the German and reform models.

Look slightly lower down the page... it gives all the facings specs for the mouthpieces you mentioned.

I, along with a few other students and professionals in Australia, play on a Viotto B3, but I have never been able to find the specs on this model. Can anyone explain?

Viotto told me that the B3 is similar to the Vandoren B40 facing. He said it is presently one of his favourite facings, but didn't give me the exact specs. Viotto only works on the facings, not the chamber, etc. The difference between his B3 and a B40 is that he uses Zinner blanks. The B3 is just a copy of a particularly good B40 facing.

"Viotto" told you. Did you talk to Mr. Heinz Viotto directly or did you send him an E-mail or something?

I spoke to him directly on the phone. Do I sense some cynicism here?

Not at all. It's just that I've been trying to find a way to talk with the man, or at least a represenative, but I haven't been able to find a way.
