Hi all:
I just picked up a Penzel Mueller at ajunk shop in Derry New Hamp.
75 bucks so i sunk 75 for new pads etc..
She is beautiful. Thick Resonant lower end. A true find.
I need to find out the age of this beast. When did they go out of biz? I've heard various estimates.
Anyone know for sure?
The SN is L-552-B

Just go the "Search the Forum" and ask for Penzel [adding Mueller will reduce the retrieval slightly] and look up the best prospects. Don

Think P-M went out of business in 52. I have had one for some time, but I have it loaned out so can't tell you serial no. It has a crack that has been pinned, but plays nicely. Have fun.

I have a matched set of Bb and A Penzel Muellers that have serial numbers in the 7500 range. PM was in business from 1899 top about 1965, at one time I had a 1965 PM catalog but it's now lost :(. They made very respectable clarinets. I have yet to find a SN list for PM.
