I have been asked to get together a group of people to play for a kindermusic group one of the teachers at my school is associated with. She and I were thinking somewhere along the lines or Britten's Guide to the Orchestra, but not that piece, but the kinda thing where it is an actual piece of music, but shows off different aspects of the main 5 or 6 band instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone (or low brass of some kind) and percussion. I am very open to any ideas, even non-legit pieces or compositions. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
So many instruments to play........so little time to play them!

These might all be too big for your presentation, but maybe you could use snippets of recordings or videos...
Tubby the Tuba
Peter and the Wolf
Gerald McBoing Boing
And if you want to really get a charge out the kids at the end of your program, give them a chance to blow the different instruments and see if they can get a sound out of them! I'm assuming with a Kindermusik program you are dealing with very young children so it might not work.
Good luck!
