A few months ago our young son said he'd like to learn the cornet. To give him encouragement, I announced that I'd learn the clarinet, something I've wanted to do for many years despite already playing piano and guitar. For two months now I've been the proud owner of a Hanson clarinet and can't get enough of it! I could spend the whole day playing! We found a cornet teacher for our son but I decided to learn the clarinet by myself.
I've almost reached the end of the 'Abracadabra Clarinet' book (which I can strongly recommend) but I haven't a clue where to go from here. Which books did you find most helpful in the early years?
Regards,
Steve

The Rubank blue books, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced 1 & 2 might be the next step. You may be able to skip the elementary. I'm not familiar with the book you mentioned.
Also, many on here (me included) use the Klose book. It is about an inch thick, orange and costs around $25 but has material all the way from beginner to advanced.
Both of these are fairly easy to find at local music stores.
