 Clarinet teachers

Who are some clarinetists in Northern California who give lessons and are good at what they do? I have a teacher but my band director suggested looking for someone who is possibly a symphony clarinetist or a professor or something. I am open to suggestions!

So many instruments to play........so little time to play them!

What area of N California? If you live in Tahoe I don't think you'd be much
interested in San Jose teachers.

I live near in Modesto, which is about 2 hours east of San Francisco. I have actually thought about San Jose teachers, and am willing to travel for lessons.

Check out any music/clarinet teachers at colleges around you. I'm sure a lot of clarinet teachers at colleges will give private lessons for those not in college (although they'll pay by the hour of course instead of by the semester). Also, if there isn't a clarinetist teaching clarinet at that college (I'm not sure how this could happen since clarinet is so popular, but I assume that maybe a college could have more of a "woodwind" teacher than clarinet specialist), the music department hopefully will know of teachers.

Also, depending on your skill level, you may be able to get taught by a student. If you are a beginner, you can learn just as much from a clarinet music performance student as you would from a clarinet teacher, probably at half the price. Try to find a principle of a college orchestra to teach you. And when you get better, go on to get lessons from a proffessional.
