What's the problem about Delrin inserts? I have them on my Rossi, and I have never had problems, in 7 years.

The "3000" looks pretty good. If I wanted a Boehm-Oehler mongrel that would be my first pick, lol.
I do like the idea though- mixing the two systems so you can be as french or german as your want ( with you mouthpiece, reeds, barrel- etc. )
I would use a Vandoren German Mouthpiece and White Master reeds probably if I got the "3000".
Their Basset Clarinet I must say is ugly though hehe, compared to french models like the ones Leblanc produces.

As I recall, Delrin is DuPont's name for their acetal resin, and does not have the same tendency to swell and shrink with moisture content like nylon does. I think that nylon is (was?) what Boosey was using in their "A" key adjustment screws....which caused problems.

Either something's peculiar with my morning cyber stroll or I'm just more out of the loop of things than I thought. I know... my friend'll be the last to tell me to my face
If my exchange inquiry is correct, and I'm not at all sure that it is, the asking price for the Student Model is:
$4,279.87 (USDollars)
I guess I'll just have to remain content with my pre-owned, much used, Prueffer... for a while -- a lonnnnng while.
At three grand (if my information is that far off), no student's parents I know would be willing to spring for that - even if they loved the German system.

What a beautiful clarinet! But I have to wonder how it can fit both french and german mouthpieces, and how you can change this to get desired sound... To sound german, wouldn't you need to change the bore???
I also wonder if they sound as good as they look... When I converted the price of the '3000' model, it came to AU$10,000... That's a LLOOTT!!
