When I express that I can not wait for tomorrow because I get my clarinet back, most of the people I interface with during the day would not understand. So I am left with no other option than to post it.

After 28 year of no playing , four weeks of playing and now a week of repairs I can't wait. New pads, two new keys, new corks, freshly oiled, polished and new mouthpiece (see last post "set-up").

It is not the greatest clarinet in the world but it fits my level of play.

Save reed shavings for days like this, when you need a fix.

Make sure to check your appearance before proceeding into public view.

I think there is also a Grenadilla patch that can be worn on the upper arm, with a time-release formula, to keep your craving at bay.

You might also want to keep a silverplated spoon on your person.
(some addictions have this as a normal variant)

Listening to Tex Avert and Max Fleisher cartoon scores...

always keep a back up clarinet at home. this will also provide a friends for you #1 horn when you are at work.
it's the same as having two dogs rather then one.
take a slow scale and call me in the morning.

My daughter tryed the patch, she says, it's not the same thing, but it takes the edge off. lol

Tim,
I completely understand, at age 61 I am learning to play the clarinet after trying during my middle school years.
I was able to get a good teacher and after the first lesson, he suggested I get my old Bundy to a repairman. I think he thought it was about to expire.
I was quite thrilled to get it back.
To all the experienced players, I say thank you for your comments on this board as they have been quite helpful. Mark your creation and management of this board is greatly appreciated.
