I was looking for some info on the types of reeds for both practice and recital. I used rico royal reeds, but I know theres other reeds out there that are better that what I have. Any info would be great.

Thanks,

I've found Vandoren reeds to be better, but inconsistent. I normally use Zonda and am in the process of trying Gonzales FOF (good results so far).

My first reed out of my brand new Gonzalez box had a splinter. But I'm still undecided if I like them. The Gigliottis are wonderful reeds but probably a bit softer than the blue box Vandorens. I also tried Mitchell Lurie reeds. Played right out of the box, but definitely softer than Vandorens and didn't seem to have much staying power.
